The webtrades site has been designed with the user in mind; however as with many electronic computer based programs problems can occur and some screens can seem difficult to navigate. The below instructions should help you overcome any hurdles you encounter with the site.

If problems persist please use the "contact us" facility under the Home and Help icon to send a message, we will response as soon a practicable.

Speed: This is a large site and the speed the site appears on your screen may vary depending on your computer specifications, your internet connection, wireless or cable connection and in some cases the amount of traffic on your network.

Register as a Member

You need to be registered to place an advertisement on the site. On the home page there are four areas in which you can register, The first location is next to the login icon in the top right hand side of the screen, the second location is on the right hand side of the Map, the third location is under the Home icon at the top of the screen and the fourth location is at the bottom of the screen left hand side under the Home label.

Click on one of the above registration tabs and follow the instructions.

Choose Business member or an Individual member by clicking one of the radio buttons.

Choose a unique Username 6 to 20 characters in length, write down your username and keep this username in a safe place.

Choose this name carefully as it cannot be changed. Press on the red I button on screen for more information.

Insert your Default email address; this is the address all notices and confirmations from Website for the Trades will be sent.

Decide on a unique Password 6 to 30 characters; remember that the password is case sensitive.

Enter your Password again to ensure you have typed the password you intended. Press on the red I button on screen for more information.

Secret Question: Select a Secret question from the list and type in your Answer, we ask you to do this as it will assist us in the future if you forget your password. Press on the red I button on screen for more information.

Default Logo: is used in your advertisements unless you choose an alternative image when placing an advertisement.

Business Details: complete the questionnaire as shown, all questions with a red asterisk next to them must be answered or the process will not move to the next screen.

Contact Person 1:This is a required field

Name: There are two cells shown for your name, place your first name in the first cell and your family name in the second cell.

Phone: There are two cells for your Landline number the first cell is for your area code the second cell is your phone number. NOTE if you only have a mobile phone type in 00 in the area code and your mobile number in the second cell.

Contact Person 2: This selection is optional.

Email and Website: This information is optional. However if you do not fill this in then it will not appear in the Trade Directory.

The Trade Directory: is complimentary when you purchase a Silver, Gold or Platinum package.

State: You cannot access the Suburb until you insert a State. Please note that the Region is dynamic and is automatically assigned when you choose a suburb. If you make a mistake and choose the wrong suburb, go back and click on the suburb drop down box; when the list appears go to the top of the list and click on "Please select a suburb" the system will regenerate the suburb list and you can then choose your suburb again.

Postal Details: If your postal address is different to your business address choose "different to above" and complete the relevant details.

Terms of Use: Please read the terms of use; if you accept the terms of use click on the box shown. If you would like to Print the Terms of Use click on the Terms & Conditions at the bottom of the screen in the red panel, when the terms & conditions screen appears right click on your mouse and choose print.

Notifications: If you do not want to receive news and special offers for Trades Surplus products and services please click on the box as shown, this will uncheck the box.

Click on Register now: Registration Verification: (For your security) this is the final process for registration, whilst the Internet registration page is still open check your emails (send/receive) and follow the email instruction. Click on the "verify account here" that arrived in your email. You will note that a "Registration Complete" messages appears on the Internet registration page, you are now ready to use your account.
